New Caricature Logo!

New Logo!  It’s been a long time coming, but I finally made it. This will go on my new business cards I’m designing for Ricky Caricatures.
I attached some concept sketches too :)

Animating!

I'm animating a short scene. The character is the Easter Bunny, that's all I'll say. It's for my own pure enjoyment, and cause I've missed animating so much. I've been getting in design more, but I feel that I can't stop there, I have to see the character come to life!

The first design: he's just a grumpy, wine-drinking Easter Bunny who just wants to chill and keep to himself. The line is: "Where are my eggs!?"  Voiced by my friend Jared Morr(thanks Jared!) thanks also to his brother James for recording.

I attached the x-sheet...exploring possible mouth shapes.

The thumbnails are the basic scene structure and acting. He does a little business before leading up to the dialogue.

I also started playing around with his facial design more, trying to figure out his mouth shapes, and how his whole face works in general. I made a quick animated gif to test it out.

More to come!

My Wine Bottle is on the Racks :)

About a year ago I designed a wine label for a winery, Flying Goat Cellars,  in my hometown. This is the first time I've seen the bottle alongside other wines. :D Thanks to Jonathan Herron for the pics! :)  This was taken at Sissy's Uptown Cafe in Lompoc, Ca.

San Luis Obispo Bike Month Logo Competition

Final Logo.
Sketches.

Here's my explorations for this logo...I tried to make the bike design my own by adding different gradients and simplifying the design to it's essence. The colors are purely American, since this is a national event taking place all in May. I couldn't help being subconsciously influenced by "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" when I was choosing the colors though.

I got inspiration from the bicycle wheels, the spokes and all the lines and shapes it creates. That led to make the encasing an abstract wheel. I picked a nice, clean, fun font, because riding a bike is FUN! It's was a  very organic, try, fail, redo, kind of process...like most art :)

PS- My logo didn't make to the final 7, but you can see the others here.
